How it works

Your training command center

The GeniusGym dashboard collects every signal that matters — current streak, sessions completed, total tonnage lifted, your prescribed programme and the next scheduled session — so you can start training within a few seconds of opening the app.

Streaks, sessions and volume

The three counters at the top of the dashboard are calculated from your logged sessions. Streak counts consecutive days with at least one completed session, Sessions is your lifetime completion count, and Volume is total load moved (sets × reps × weight) rounded to the nearest thousand kilograms.

Volume is the most honest measure of whether you are progressing. If your streak stays high but tonnage flatlines for three weeks, add a little load or one extra working set rather than another session.

Prescribed programme and resume

After onboarding, the prescription engine matches your age band, goal, training level and weekly availability to one programme in the library and one nutrition protocol. It appears as the hero card so you never have to hunt for what to do today.

If you close the app mid-session, the Continue card reappears on the dashboard with the exact exercise you stopped on, including the sets you had already logged.

Built for short, repeatable sessions

Every workout runs on timed blocks with looping demonstration video, tempo callouts, rest countdowns and hydration prompts between exercises, so a session takes the time it says it takes.

Reading the dashboard in ten seconds

The dashboard is ordered by urgency rather than by feature. The prescribed programme card sits first because it answers the only question that matters when you open the app: what am I training today. Below it, the three counters give a fast health check on consistency, and beneath those sit the resume card, the countdown to your next scheduled session and, when your protocol includes fasting, the live eating-window timer.

If a card is not relevant to your current protocol it is hidden rather than greyed out. A dashboard that only shows live information stays readable at six in the morning, which is when most sessions actually get started or abandoned.

What to do on a low-motivation day

Consistency beats intensity across a training block, so on a flat day open your prescribed session and commit to the warm-up and the first exercise only. In practice the large majority of sessions started this way get finished, because the friction was never the work itself — it was the decision.

If you genuinely have twelve minutes, use Session Forge to generate a short conditioning block with the equipment you have in front of you. A logged twelve-minute session keeps your streak, keeps the habit intact and still adds tonnage to your weekly total.

How the numbers change over a block

Expect volume to climb for three to five weeks, plateau, and then need a deliberate change: more load, an extra set, tighter rest, or a new programme. Streak and session count are habit metrics; volume and completion percentage are progress metrics. Track both, but only change the programme when the progress metrics stall for three sessions in a row.

Frequently asked

Do I need an account to train?
Yes, but it is free. An account lets your sessions, streaks and fuel plans sync across phone, tablet and desktop.
How is my streak calculated?
One or more completed sessions on a calendar day keeps the streak alive. Rest days scheduled by your programme do not break it.
Can I change my prescribed programme?
Yes. Open the Programme Selector on the dashboard or browse the full library and enter any programme directly.
Why does my dashboard look different from a friend's?
Cards are conditional on your protocol. Fasting timers, prescribed programme cards and resume prompts only appear when the underlying data exists for your account.
Does the volume figure include bodyweight exercises?
Bodyweight movements count reps and sets toward completion but are not added to the kilogram tonnage figure, which tracks external load only.
